Assessment can be demonstrated with a Compass placement test, a previous college degree; college courses, or SAT, ACT, or other college placement assessments.
TBCC uses the COMPASS Placement Tests (untimed, computerized) to gauge a students academic strengths. This is not a graded or a "pass or fail test". The scores are used to place you into the correct classes and to meet the prerequisites for specific classes. Tests are done in the areas of math, reading, and writing.
To take the COMPASS placement test, ask the TBCC Librarian to get you started on your COMPASS assessment. You should plan for about two hours to complete the tests.
