Admissions Information


New Degree/Credit Students

TBCC has an open admissions policy and welcomes students from all educational backgrounds. Programs are designed to promote equal access to educational opportunities and pro vide services that maximize student potential and development. Students under the age of 16 must see an academic advisor prior to enrolling. Appointments may be made by calling (503) 842-8222, ext. 1100.

If you plan to pursue a transfer or two-year degree or a career and technical degree or a professional certifcate or to take credit courses.

TBCC is committed to student access as well as success. We have people whose job it is to make sure you get what you need, when you need it. That's why we've made getting started at TBCC as easy as 1, 2, 3 ...

1     Complete and admissions application...
You can print and admissions form here or pick one up in person at the First Street Campus.

2    Complete New Student Orientation by clicking New Student Orientation(Best viewed in Internet Explorer 5 or later) Complete the short quiz and return it to Enrollment Services.

3    Apply for Financial Aid.    Please click here for Financial Aid options.

4    Assess Your Placement by Compass, SATs or Previous Transcript
Have you had previous college experience? Bring in Transcripts. Have you taken the SATs? Bring in your Scores. Need Placement testing?
Placement assessment is a way for students to fulfill course prerequisites.

Placement assessments are available on a drop-in, first-come bassis. Students will need their Social Security number, and photo ID for the testing session.

5    Now you are Ready to Register

Register online at MyTBCC, login and click Course Schedule or complete and submit a registration form to Enrollment Services.
To pay for classes, take your schedule and bill to the Bookstore/Cashier. You may pay with check, cash, Visa, Mastercard, or Discover. If you will be paying with financial aid, scholarship or agency billing, make sure that all arrangements have been made prior to class start date.

Returning Students
It's great to have you back! As a returning student, you've already completed most of the steps listed for new students. All you need to do is:

1.  Check with your advisor to make sure you are on track for your goal.

2.  Meet with the Financial Aid Specialist if needed.

3.  Register for classes online at MyTBCC or submit a registration form to Enrollment Services.

4.  To pay for classes, take your schedule and bill to the Bookstore/Cashier. You may pay with check, cash, Visa, Mastercard, or Discover. If you will be paying with financial aid, scholarship or agency billing, make sure that all arrangements have been made prior to class start date.
