The Computer Applications and Office Systems (CAS/OS) program prepares students for careers in two large and growing fields: administrative support and web site development and design. Many students take these courses to improve their current job skills or to learn new skills to help them move into a new career. The CAS/OS classes will support students in many other academic endeavors.

  • Administrative Assistant Certificate
      This certificate is intended for entry-level administrative assistants, secretaries, receptionists, file clerks and data entry personnel. Students may perform a wide variety of duties such as working with modern office technology to produce and file business documents, greeting the public, planning and scheduling, accounting and creating web pages.
  • Virtual Assistant Certificate
      Students will be able to use technological skills to contract office support to entrepreneurs, businesses, and organizations; use critical thinks and problem solving to effectively communicate to clients; create a virtual community and manage equipment, supplies and other resources to maintain office efficiency.
  • Basic Computer Literacy Career Pathways
      The targeted jobs are office support and information clerk.
  • Word Processing Career Pathways
      The targeted jobs are word processing, clerical support and project assistant.
  • Spreadsheet Career Pathways
      The targeted jobs are bookeeping assistant, data entry, office assistant, and bank teller.
  • Office Assistant Career Pathways
      The targeted job is an office assistant who maintains all the events and activities in an office setting.
