Applying for Veterans Education Benefits
Step 1: Apply with the VA
Complete the Veterans Online Application about six weeks before you
want to start classes. If you need help completing the application, we can help!
Step 2: Get admitted to TBCC
After completing the application process with the VA, get admitted to TBCC and choose your major.
Step 3: Talk to a veterans specialist
Meet with TBCC's School Certifying Official (SCO) to start using your benefits at TBCC. (See campus contact information below)
Provide SCO with:
Step 4: Register for classes
Register for classes which qualify for benefits and make sure you are enrolled full time.
Step 5: Submit your schedule
After you've registered for classes, submit your schedule for certification to the SCO
Step 6: Protect your classes
Make sure your classes are paid for to avoid late payment fees
Step 7: Maintain eligibility
Learn what you need to do to make sure you keep receiving benefits
